Women’s Spirituality Studies Press (WSSP) is a non-profit publishing house dedicated to advancing the understanding of Women’s Spirituality across cultures and eras. Our mission is to publish peer-reviewed, insightful books and also to serve as an inclusive platform providing resources and connections for scholars and practitioners. By offering rigorous peer review and comprehensive publishing support, WSSP nurtures scholarship and writings that honor the multiplicity of women’s spiritual lives. Together we strive to foster an inclusive community that demonstrates the importance and value of this academic field while expanding the global conversation on Women’s Spirituality.

Founded as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, WSSP has always placed mission over margin reinvesting every resource back into the authors, scholarship, and communities we serve.
Our Founder
Women’s Spirituality Studies Press (WSSP) was founded by the late Professor Mara Lynn Keller, who left a generous bequest in her will to bring her vision to fruition. Inspired by her decades-long dedication to getting the study of Women’s Spirituality established and accepted as an academic discipline, WSSP champions a collaborative publishing model that uplifts and connects scholars, writers, and practitioners in this unique field, fostering a global community of voices committed to exploring the diversity of women’s spiritual lives.
